In 1982 a song by a band called Minor Threat started a worldwide counterculture phenomenon called Straight Edge. Originating from the punk and hardcore underground and united through the abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, drugs and promiscuous sex, this vibrant subculture challenges mainstream values to this day.
